Easter is all about family fun, making something together and decorating your home. These images inspired me to start decorating my home to celebrate this wonderful holiday! The orthodox Easter is on 15th of April this year so it's time to get inspired:)

Friday DIY, links roundup

Bunny cookies, link to the recipe below
The weekend is coming and it means finding a little time to be creative!
Plushka always plans a few hours for new creations development which is the most enjoyable time for me, very relaxing and very much needed in the end of the week.

I found  a few great DIY links with great projects to have a go at this weekend:

Make a pen and pencil caddy - great recycling project for kids!
Make a cute Easter paper basket. Yes, it's this time of the year again when bunnies come out and chocolate is allowed!
Clever paint chip easter garland, another great recycling idea especially after renovating.
Bake yummy burlap rabbit cookies.

Hope you'll find some time to create this weekend!

Happy Friday and happy crafting!

Something little for myself....

Crochet brooch in beige

Camel tones are very much in fashion this season but pastel colours are not really something I have in my wardrobe so I decided to create a few easy accessories.
So, this afternoon I enjoyed making a little brooch for myself from woolen crochet flower and cross-stitched button.
This brooch will go beautifully with my handmade crochet scarf.  The contrast of wool and silky cotton is something that just so simple but looks great. Don't you think?

I am loving the Easter break! Hope you are enjoying some free time too:)

More in yellow...

If you follow my Facebook page, you probably met my new addition to the Easter collection.
For the little girl chick I've used one of the Hunky Dory fabrics by Moda. I just love this pattern with flowers. There are so many different colours in it that it will match pretty much any felt!

Girly chick

When I looked at my shop, I thought that there are too many girls in this collection but not enough boys. For the boy, I used the fabric by Riley Blake.

My creative space....

It's been very busy start of the week in my creative space!

My week started with very exciting Designer spotlight interview that came out on Monday over at Madeit website!

The new Easter collection keeps me busy... I couldn't stop myself and got overwhelmed playing with new fabrics and colours. I finished the last chick last night and will have to stop for now and concentrate on rabbits and customer orders.

Another chick

I also found some time to make a few handmade bias tapes....

Introducing: Easter collection

I've been working on this collection for a few weeks and I should say that making these toys was so enjoyable! I love this stage of the project when I get to match fabrics. Each toy collection has it's own container of fabrics. I allocate certain fabrics exclusively to owls or penguins that are suitable for their size, felt colour and character.

For colour inspiration, I used this two pictures. These little chicks are so adorable and I was surprised to discover how many different colours I can make my chick in.

pictures found here.

So, I took some yellow and different shades of beige or light brown felt, fabric that I thought will suit baby chicks like linen with tiny sprouts and ladybirds, flowery cottons and organic Leaves shell by Coud9. All chicks are free-ranged and love nature!

Butterflies seemed to be a good match for this chick as she is quite outdoorsy and love sneeking under the fence to wonder around meadow;)

Hope these baby chicks will bring you happy smiles and joy this Easter!
