As soon as I found these stunning pictures here, I looked at my box of ribbons, all squashed together and had to re-orgonise them to look as pretty as these ones!

Loving my buttons collection

I've started this month with re-organising my embroidery threads... 
I should say my creative life became so much easier after that with colours that are easy to find! I felt very inspired and done the same with my buttons. 



I love my buttons and after getting them all in one box, it's so much easier to see the colours and it's obvious - I still have room for more;) 



After looking at all of them together, I felt like creating something with them.... One of my Christmas items is inspired by all those colourful "candies". Stay tuned!

Today, I am...

*making three more baskets for the shop in hues of pink. Stack of Liberty fabric is tempting me to experiment and match pink with unexpected prints.

*going through (again) my stash, cleaning the table for more bias tape cutting and getting all my little collections out to fill my new wooden storage box. 
After living and creating in my previous set up, I realized it takes too much space. I wonder how long this one will last?! 

I do like changing my surroundings to suit my mood:) 

*reading two new blogs I found: Recipe for cute by Emily Burnette and Smile and Wave by Rachel Denbow.

My creative space....

My creative space this week is..... tidy! I spend a good 4 hours yesterday cleaning, going through scraps, reorganising and chucking things out..... Why? I had to take picture of myself, which is already pretty scary, in my creative space!!! Oh, I didn't look forward to that but I did it. I cannot show my picture yet as the interview will come out only in a few weeks but I can show you my space:)

I couldn't resist buying this storage boxes in Typo the other day! They are French themed and SO useful for small things that laying around like threads, buttons, stamps, elastics etc.

I love that I've got so much more space now! Before you couldn't even see the table, it was all covered with felt fluff and projects in piles.

I found stashed away crochet butterflies. I was thinking about using them somewhere but don't have time at the moment so, temporary, they are available in my shop. They will be great for handmade projects for kids.

However, some shelves still need work. My personal stash looks a bit overwhelmed with new fabrics.....

My little helper can now sit next to me. He is one of those "trial" toys that I make when I create a new design and not all of them end up for sale, some stay here. His name is Monster and he loves this space;)

Keep them organised!

My linen ribbons stash is not that big which means I treasure every meter of the ones I've got!

I recently stumbled on these organisers and immediately pictured them in my draw.

I am also planning on getting my embroidery threads organised the same way but it's a much bigger task as I've got all colours under the sun there so it will take me hours!

Getting ready for the new year.....

New ideas are flooding my sketch book but it's only 14 days left till New Year so some ideas are on hold until my creative space and the rest of the house are clean, tidy and organized! Traditionally in my family a week before the new year we run around looking for the presents (tick), re-organising wardrobes and giving away cloths (tick) and cleaning till the house sparkles (still on my *to do* list).

I bought everything on my shopping list this morning (including a few things for myself that were not on the list) so I am very pleased that I still have time to get guest room ready for Mr. Plushkin's niece who is coming to visit and dedicate a few hours to working on the new collections.

I found this plastic draw organizers while running around. They turned out to be a perfect storage for my little scraps and fat quarters.

I can keep them on my table which is very handy!

However, when I need them to be out of the way, I can pop them on the shelf. Light and see through, they are so far one of the best ways I found to store the fabric that I know will be used in the nearest future.

How are your Christmas/New Year preparations going?

New and improved creative space...

On Sunday, I was a crafter with a plan - reorganize my fabric storage system by buying a few new boxes.... How little I knew that our quick trip to IKEA will lead to tree days of cleaning, reorganizing, throwing things out (sometimes with fight).

We bought the whole new storage system!!! I was very motivated by being fed up with lifting containers and searching for things for hours as well as this creative space. Mr. Plushkin was tired of listening to my "I lost it again" routine and finally gave in:) Here are a few tidy shelves that I can show you so far:

The fabric was folded according to the rule (fraying ends inside) and, although it's not perfect yet, it's very close to what I want.

I like that the box has a little window in it. I can put a fabric at the front to make it pretty and indicate which collection is inside. This one holds my linens:

...and this is my new table that I still need to get used to but anything is better than crafting on the ironing board, trust me!

Now, the fun stuff: filling up the boxes and tiding up around the table!
