My creative space....

In my creative space today, I am finishing a project that I started in October. I don't like unfinished things laying around so I am very eager to put a tick next to it on my list.
I've started by finding a matching fabric:

Next step: making a pillow case with linen on one side as a background for the hexagon.

More creative spaces here.

Creative Tuesday

I haven't done hexagons for a while now. Today, I decided to finish a few, that were laying around for ages, and make some new ones for my project.
If everything goes well, it might be ready to show you on Thursday in My creative space:)

Next step ironing and attaching them to the linen...

Moodboard...

Normally I don't get too excited about new computer programs but I love my new "Moodboard" application! I don't have any new hexagon flowers yet so I've used a few old pictures of my favorite hexagons.

Do you have a favourite computer program/application that you use?
I would love to know!

Sunday hexagons fun!

I am still in my crochet blanket meditation stage so there is not much sewing and crafting going on..... but I did play with my hexagon stash this morning and made a few more crochet brooches for my Madeit shop.

Have a lovely Sunday everyone!

My creative space....

This week my creative space is where I can proudly say: I am not scared of zippers any more! I made 6 zipper pouches and so far only one went wrong:) I've always tried to avoid projects with zippers but I bought a lovely Japanese oilcloth and I the idea of making little coin purses forced me to learn how to insert a zipper. Apparently, I can do it!!!

Besides zippers, I was working on making a mummy for the baby owls. I didn't want just to copy and enlarge the pattern as I wanted to give mummy her owl character so I started the pattern from scratch. Here she is, in a very bright hand dyed felt:

I've also played with a new Hoot by MoMo charm pack that I purchased from Retro Mummy.
I love the colours and the cute oval dots:

Hexagons + buttons

Last night after very loooong day at work (yep, I work some Sundays), I could not wait to get to my hexagons and a few other projects! Here what I finished last night:

I had a few embroideries waiting to become buttons:

Today, since I am down with a cold, I've got a few projects in mind to keep me busy:
- new soft toy pattern that I designed last week need to be tested
- to sew buttons on the backing and pack them in a parcel
- put fabrics together for the pillow project
- a few more headbands and hair ties to make

Have a great Monday everyone!

Hexagon+Embroidery

Everything new usually starts with "What if....". What if I put embroidery in the middle of the hexagon? Will it work? Will the linen fold nicely? I pick two embroideries that I made last night: pear and Russian doll, then some fabric squares from Bliss Charm pack:

I finished my first flower and I didn't have any problems with using embroidery so far. However, I admit I've used thicker paper for the hexagon just to make linen fold easier.

Next step is to finish the second one and sew the hexagons together. So I am off back to my craft corner.....

Have a lovely evening!
