What's new at Plushka's Makery?

It's been a week since official opening of Plushka's Makery! Thank you for all your support:) I've got new goodies arriving soon but while I am waiting, there are new patterns and embroidery charts in the making.

Sunday Stash....Elephants

In my Sunday Stash this week, a new print that I started collecting some time ago... I love elephant and they are probably on the top of my list when I look for a fabric after hedgehogs. I made twin felt owls with it a month ago and it was very nice to work with!

This one on thick yellow cotton with large elephants was actually the first one I bought and when I found out that there are more out there with tiny ones I had to get a little bit in every colour:)

Little experiment....

Last night, going through my stash, I found this pink canvas fabric with clouds and imagined this picture of the girl cycling down the hill... I didn't feel like making another pillow so a hair clips organiser came to mind. This what I came up with:

It's a first time I made something like this... Still need to create a few to make it right:) but I don't have this fabric with clouds any more so I am in a search for something that can replace it....

Meet Hazelnut!

As soon as the fabric arrived, I knew that I have to drop everything and make an owl.

This is a point where I start seeing his character forming and become very anxious about whether he will look the way I imagined him. But you cannot rush owl making!

....half an hour later..... He turned out to be a lovely little fellow!

Pillow project (stage 1)

Sunday morning is a perfect time to try something new! I've started my pillow project from the cross-stitched balloon and Japanese linen. I am thinking on using some applique and maybe hand-stitching.....

But, for now, stage 1 is to cut, pick the fabric for the back, make a border and pick the applique pieces....

That's my Sunday project! What is your plan for the day?

Bunting finished...FINALLY!

This project took me ages to finish! Mainly because it's my first time making those triangle flags that are a bit tricky.... I had to unstitch them a few times to get it right but I got there in the end and that's what matters, isn't it?

Then, I looked at my finished bunting and thought:

"So, how do I photograph my creation?".

I've used my dark grey feature wall as a background,

folded it, unfolded it....

In the end, it needed another iron and I wasn't very happy with the pictures.

To sum up, I need more practice sewing bunting and certainly more photographing it!
