My creative space...

I don't know whether it's the pictures from my last post or the cooling down weather (I feel so much more creative in Autumn/Winter) but I felt like designing a new cross-stitch pattern for my key rings. It had to be a little penguin that I stitched straight away so I can adjust the pattern.
I love this little guy! There are a few colours, besides black, that I want to stitch him in but I would love your suggestions!
What colour should I make him in next?

The happy couple!

The couple

It wasn't very nice of me to make The Bride wait for over a week to see her Groom but I got so excited about making her "dress" and veil that I had to start with her:)

However, they are together now
.....and they lived happily ever after!

Happy Friday!

P.S. Dear Facebook followers, I am locked out of my page (I can see it but cannot post) so i will be back with you as soon as it's fixed! x

My creative space...

My creative space this week, is filled with projects and excitement of the new creations on the way.....
Although, I am finishing customer orders, I still haven't found time to make a new toy. The pattern, fabric and felt that I collected for it are patiently waiting for me. I think it easy to guess which toy I am making;)

Felt and fabric for a new toy

Yesterday, I found a perfect Liberty fabric for the last new color of crochet baskets this year - Green Apple. It's just perfect and here is another project on the list. Thank you everyone for your comments on my last basket project! I am more confident now about the colors I've picked and will make it this weekend!

apple basket and Liberty

However, I did sneak in a little owl in blue just because it was already half made and only needed fabric. I picked, the most popular last year, Japanese fabric with little sailors.

Owl in blue

Last but not least, Dianne - the penguin was finished and posted.
I like the new felt that I've used which turned out to be a beautiful color for a more "grown-up" penguin. She looks like a sweet lady, doesn't she?

Making progress....

I love taking pictures of the progress when I make customers orders. It feels very satisfying that I am moving forward when sometimes it doesn't feel like it!

Stack of owls appeared on my table last weekend and I am slowly going through stitching tails and eyes. Once all details are done, the fun stage starts where I give each and one of them a fabric belly and face expressions.

Owls order

One large penguin for customer order is done! He's name is Oliver and he will be ready to go very soon to the little boy but he has to wait for another two to join him.

Finished penguin

Second one is half done with embroidery drying on the balcony....

Large penguin progress

That what i will be up to today - finishing what I started and, maybe, a few things on a side:) I do want to make a bias without dots!

Have a great Tuesday!

Sunday Stash....#37

In my Sunday Stash this week, a few new additions to my stash:

*Fabric for boys by Kokka. I couldn't resist this one because it is printed on a lovely linen cloth and the pattern is just too cute. The fact that I used on the same day I bought it, just shows that it had to be purchased;)

City roads by Kokka

The colours of the fabric looked perfect agains grey felt and I had just enough for a penguin. I love the little police car on his belly, he is one happy motorist:)

Little motorist

*I love the pink background and I've got a weakness for the fabrics with hedgehogs. I purchase a small piece as I think it will look great for one of the rabbits.

Hedgehogs on pink

*I wasn't sure about this fabric. The background is quite bright so I thought it can be used on an Easter chick.... What do you think?

Strawberries on yellow

Happy Sunday!

Two buddies...

That's who came out from the scraps bundle that I showed you yesterday at My creative space.... Two little buddies that love hanging out together:) Thank you Naturally Carol for your advice, this icy blue fabric with hedgehogs does look great on the penguin!

Also, thank you to my sponsor today: Red ridding hood candies from the Russian shop! Having a similar taste to Kit Kat, they were my source of energy today:) Oh, and a Chai tea of course.

Hope your are having a great Friday!

Casper, friendly penguin.

This morning, waiting for the electrician to turn up, I made Casper. He is made from light grey hand dyed felt and precious "Carrots and peas" by Sandy Klop fabric. Somehow, I was willing to cut my stashed away fabric only for him...

Accidentally, frustrated with waiting, I've used different eye template. I am still not sure if I prefer this one more. What do you think? His eyes are a bit bigger and rounder comparing to the previous penguins.

Happy Friday!

My creative space....

Today, in my creative space, I am making big felt penguins! I couldn't decided on the fabric so I went with my favourite red and blue organic fabric from Circa50. I love it's bright colours and it doesn't fray that easily as some cottons which is fairly important for the penguins who will get cuddled as much as these two:)

One Miss. Penguin is nervously waiting for her Mummy and Daddy to be sewn together. We took a picture with them still without bellies and wings but it's all family history so they didn't mind.

best souvenir or can you have enough fabric?

Mr Plushkin is back from his business trip and it seams like he's being away for years!
The best souvenir EVER, in my opinion, is a few meter of Liberty fabric. I cannot have enough of this fabric!!!
He've done very well picking those colours and patterns. I love them all!

It is so good to have my Mr. Plushkin back and, while he is catching up on his sleep after a long flight, I am making my penguins. I've got a few fabrics piled up that I want to use in the next 4 little amigos.

How is your weekend coming along?
Hope you are having a splendid weather wherever you are!
Enjoy your Sunday!

My creative space...

In my creative space this week, I've made some progress on my crochet squares that I've showed you in my last week's creative space. I need three more squares so I can start connecting them all together and then making a boarder...

I've also finished 5 penguins. I had to modify pattern once again as I wasn't entirely happy with the wings.

They looked very uncomfortable in the suitcase so I made another picture that they liked more: "synchronized swimming" performance!

Four amigos!

There were not many craft moment at Plushka's studio for the last 3 days. However, these four amigos slowly shaping up.....

I am behind on sending my parcel to the Shop Handmade in Canberra so I will definitely have to have a stitching and sewing bootcamp for the next few days, trying to catch up with time that just runs away!

Those 4 are dark grey penguins, not like first two, and I will probably make a few brown ones tonight. Let's say I am experimenting! (In reality, I've ordered different shade of felt by mistake that, likely, turned out to be fine for my penguins).

Have a great Tuesday!

Meet Mimi and Lilly...

This is Mimi. She is my first penguin made! She was very patient waiting for me to make the pattern, cut, stitch and when through all the adjustments that I had to make on the way.

This is Lilly. A second one from the line.

They were made from hand dyed felt and a beautiful Saffron Craig's fabric.

They are going together to the Shop Handmade in Canberra this week.... Not only because it's slightly cooler there but also with a hope of finding a new home!
