Name tag for a swap: accomplished!

I just finished a name tag for the Sew it Together name tag swap and have to share it with you!

Colour scheme: brown/yellow/orange
I used more brown and yellow with just a little bit of orange for the name that was cross-stitched on linen using French alphabet.

Colours for the embroidery

I wanted for the tag to have a French country feel but still have a cute detail with little squirrel on brown in the left corner.

Vintage sewing machine is another detail that I added to balance out the applique.

That's a finished project. I can not show the name on the tag yet, that a swap rule, but here it is with the cross-stitched name carefully covered:

Dear swap partner, I hope you will like it and will enjoy wearing:)

Sunday Stash....Brown!

In my Sunday stash this week, my gradually extending brown fabric collection. What can I say? I love brown!

Sunday Stash

To be completely honest... This print by Robert Kaufman with the cars I bought only because I love the shade of brown they are printed on!

Browns

Cute mushrooms on brown is a fabric print heaven! I should say that the one with white dots by Michael Miller is not my most favourite. White dots seams a bit too much for me but I love those mushrooms and that's how this fabric ended up in my stash:)

The happiest thing is that brown is one of the colours that we can use for the Sew It Together name tag swap oragnised by Megan@EdanRose!

Do you like brown/chocolate colour?

Sew It Together 2010

I love Melbourne! I use every excuse to go back and wander around busy streets of this wonderful city! It's arty, crafty and simply inspirational!

Every time we go there to visit my extended family and friends, we always have a great time and this weekend was not an exception! Thank you Sheridan and everyone behind the Sew It Together (sponsors and friendly shop owners who welcomed us....) for making this weekend so enjoyable!!!
It was a great way to meet people behind the blogs I love, learn new things and have a great time....

There were prizes: I won a great hexagon flower brooch kit from dearfii and I cannot wait to learn how to make one.... Apparently, it's very popular in the blogland right now so I'd better keep up...

There were also great free goodies from the generous sponsors:

To wrap up, it was a great weekend and I am looking forward to the next SIT!

Something made from felt and more headbands

I can not believe it! I finished the tag for the Sew it Together swap last night and posted it this morning! That's a finished project way before the deadline:) I can not show the name on the tag yet, that a swap rule, but here it is my felted creation with the cross-stitched name carefully covered:

I also had a moment last night for designing a few more headbands. I can already see them, all looking pretty on Corrie's new tree...
