Linum usitatissimum

I'm drawn to linen. Raw linen in particular. I’ve got quite a big collection myself but when I saw this picture I could not help but get a bit envious.

However, what one person likes another might loathe. For me it’s all about coarse texture, natural colour shades and crisp feel as well as its amazing history. “The history of linen is not nearly as well-documented as that of cotton and silk, though it is the oldest of fabrics, and evidence has been found in Swiss lake dwellings dating from 8000BC”.
